This entails designing offices, laboratories, training areas and other facilities necessary for Department of Agriculture’s service center to function efficiently. It comprises of a two-storey structure consisting of three functional wings. It has a structure that is tailor designed for a hot climate like that of Mookgophong.
This is a vibrant mixed land-use activity area to encourage a combination of innovative and creative architectural building designs, such as perimeter buildings, tower blocks and podium buildings interfacing streets, parks, recreation areas, courtyards and plazas all linked by networks of pedestrian corridors.
The design concept was generated by looking at the Bank of Africa as an organisation that is looking to cover all of Africa hence the African continent was symbolically transformed into a building form. The form is bold and stretches the limits to showcase Bank of Africa’s ambitions of being the leading bank in Africa. The building has a modern treatment to celebrate Africa’s ambition to be the next frontier and to give Africa’s interpretation of what modern Africa should aspire to.
