Designed to Inspire
Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) commissioned Tectura Group to design and construct its new Administrative Headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia. The proposed structure comprises a high-rise building of various zones totaling an area of 18,000 square meters. The building is zoned into the following spaces:
- Public spaces
- Conference facilities
- Staff offices & facilities
- Executive offices & facilities
- Executive suites and facilities
- Maintenance and service spaces
The building is designed and detailed in the African Post-Modernist style with references drawn from traditional forms as well. Glazed surfaces are protected from excessive heat gain through use of both vertical and horizontal sun-shading devices in line with best-practice sustainability design. The curved entrance foyer invites visitors, delegates and officials into the heart of the building where it has been fitted with a warm and modern interior.
